Motocross Chains & Accessories
Choosing the right Moto-Chains is a critical step in maintaining your bike’s performance. You must know what type of chain you need for your bike, and you must know how to select a Moto Chain that is a good fit for your bike. Motocross motorcycles come with different chain requirements, so it is important to consult your owner’s manual or a qualified mechanic before buying a new chain. A quality Motorcycle Chain will contain solid rollers, curl formed bushings, and heavy press fit pins. It will also have heat treated and shot peened parts.
X-ring chain
There are many advantages to using an X-ring chain for your motorcycle. First, it will last longer. X-rings are designed with two smaller faces that touch each other to minimize friction. Compared to conventional chains, these X-rings will also reduce drag and ensure maximum speed.
In addition to lasting longer, X-ring chains are also easier to maintain. They are less prone to rust, corrosion, and lubrication. This means less maintenance and better performance. You may even be able to buy colored chains to match your bike’s factory paint.

The most obvious difference between an X-ring chain and an O-ring chain is the type of lubrication. The factory lubrication stays within the pins and plates and doesn’t see dirt. This lubrication keeps your chain running smoothly.
Pre-stressed chain
Pre-stressed Moto chain combines high-quality components with excellent durability and long-lasting performance. Its rollers are heat-treated for added durability and precision-cut for smooth surface. The chain is also fitted with a heavy press-fit pin. The chain has 126 links.
RK Racing Chain 520-SO-120 is made of high carbon steel components, including solid rollers and bushings. The chain features a high tensile strength of seven hundred and eight hundred pounds-per-foot. It is used by many World Championship and AMA World Superbike teams. It also features a special O-ring design.
Pre-stressed Moto chains are made from high-quality materials that are heat-treated and shot-peened to ensure equal load distribution. They are extremely durable and require minimal maintenance. The chain’s XW-ring is designed to prevent corrosion and offer enhanced sealing. This means less friction and longer wear life.
Repairing a damaged or broken chain
A broken chain can be a huge pain to ride with. Not only does it make shifting difficult, but it can also get stuck when you’re riding. It can even break, causing you to have to remove the rear wheel. So, it’s best to bring a spare link or two with you, and have them handy for when your chain breaks.
Fortunately, there are a couple of methods you can use to repair a broken or damaged Moto chain. First, you need to remove the chain from the drivetrain. This can be difficult because it can make your chain dirty. The next step is to bend the chain in your hands to determine the extent of the damage. After that, you can put back the chain together using a chain tool.
Secondly, you need to examine the broken chain to determine if it has a bent link. It is best to examine the chain from all angles before you begin the repair. The bent part will usually have a warped link. Once you’ve identified the bent part, you can use a chain breaker tool to remove it. Be sure to use the tool as close to the broken section of the chain as possible. If the chain is too long or has a bend, you’ll need to push a pin through the broken portion.
